Samsung's Windows Mobile Internet Tablet, made for WiMAX networks, has been announced early this year and it's planned to launch on August 1. The handset, using Clearwire's CLEAR WiMAX network, will first be available in Las Veags for 349 dollars witha 2-year contract, or at 449 dollars without any subscirption. According to the network operator's plans, the 4G WiMAX network should be available in 10 major American cities by the end of the year, and so Samsung's 4G model will also be usable in an increasing amount of places.

The handset, based on Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional, has been uncovered at this year's CTIA, and it features a 4.3", 800 x 480 pixels large touchscreen display, a full QWERTY keyboard, a 3 megapixel camera, 4 GB of internal memory, a GPS receiver and Route 66 navigation software, WLAN and Bluetooth support, Opera 9.5 web browser, Skype and Gypsii client and support for WiMAX 4G networks. This latter is not expected to be very well-spread, as world telecommunication leaders have chosen LTE as the preferred 4G technology.
