Samsung has officially its latest Windows Mobile 6.1-based smartphone, called i900 Omnia. The Korean manufacturer probably destines this handset as a direct competitor of Apple 3G. The phone itself has first been visible at the CommunicAsia expo in Singapore, but then there were no detailed specs available. The phone with a 3.2", 240 x 400 pixel large touchscreen also has a 5 megapixel autofocus camera with face- and smile-recognition and automatic panorama imaging features. The i900, which is only 12.5 mm thick, has a built-in GPS receiver, WLAN and 7.2 megabit HSDPA support, and its 16 GB of internal memory can be exapnded with a microSDHC card. The device with RDS FM radio support and stereo Bluetooth will be shipping to Europe from July, at a yet unknown price.
