The mobile phone with a rollable display presented recently by Polymer Vision will have its debut in mid 2008 in Italy. The gadget's 5 inch black and white display which resembles a sheet of paper will primarily come in handy when reading e-books. The specialty of the e-ink is that it needs energy only for redrawing the content on the screen, while maintaining the displayed picture doesn't consume any power. The HSDPA capable phone is based on Windows CE and has a 400 MHz ARM processor; it's huge display has quite a low resolution of 320x240 pixels. The phone, which doesn't really excel in multimedia functions, has a working time of approximately 5-6 times longer that standard models according to the manufacturer, although no particularities are known.
