Open Screen Project: Multimedia of the future

Hirdetés

The aim of Adobe's Open Screen Project initiative is to create such an advanced, web-based multimedia interface that lets users share pictures, videos, sounds easily and access rich, web-based multimedia contents on many platforms, from mobile phones to computers. Such hardware manufacturers are supporting the initiative like ARM, Qualcomm or Intel, but the aces of mobile telephony, like Nokia, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, Motorola, LG and NTT DoCoMo and such important content providers like MTV Networks, BBC and NBC Universal have joined the project. Details and future plans of the project are being revealed at the Max Developers Conference. Under the project such a mobile phone runtime environment will be made for Flash 10, which will allow multimedia contents to be created for many platforms. Qualcomm will have a role in integrating the BREW 1.0 SDK. According to ARM, whose CPUs and solutions are the base for about 90 percent of current mobile phones, many phone owners are complaining about some sites being displayed incorrectly on their phones, which will probably change thanks to the project. ARM would also like to concentrate on proper energy use, as the rich multimedia experience is not enough on its own, if it's not accompanied by an appropriate uptime.
