MIU has previously announced a VIA and ARM-based HDPC (Hybrid Dual Portable Compute), which is on one hand a mini computer and also a mobile phone. The new edition has a more pleasant design and a bit renewed interior. The handset looks like an oversized cell phone when closed, which has Windows CE running on an ARM processor. Simple functions like VoIP calls, photography, phone calls, music playback and navigation are handled by this system on a 2.4", 240 x 320 pixels large AM-OLEd screen and a conventional phone keypad. When opening the center of the HDPC we get to see the full QWERTY keyboard and the 4.1", 800 x 480 pixels large display, which has a full Windows XP running on an Intel Atom CPU. The full specs and the price of the newcomer are not yet know, but the VIA-based predecessor is available for about $500 USD in Korea.
