After a lot of rumors and a long wait the third touchscreen phone from the Finnish manufacturer has been finally announced, being the smallest and cheapest member of the trio. The really compact handset is launched in the lower price segment, so it has somewhat weaker specs and less accessories than Nokia 5800, but it is slimmer and comes with a much better, in-ear headset with acoustic noise filtering.
Nokia 5530 XpressMusic is based on Symbian Series 60 Touch, and just as you can tell from its name it's a musical phone, so the stereo FM radio, the 3.5 mm headset jack and the 3D stereo speakers on the fron panel are no surprise, and furthermore the manufacturer includes a 4 GB memory card in the package, which can of course be replaced with an even larger one. The redesigned touchscreen user interface provides instant access to conversations with the 20 most important contacts directly on the standby screen and the media button is new as well, as it provides direct Windows Live Messenger, YouTube, Ovi Share, Facebook, MySpace and VOX support.
Besides these the handset features a 2.9", 360 x 640 pixels large touchscreen display, a 3.2 megapixel autofocus camera with a LED flash, a distance sensor, a gyroscope, EDGE and WLAN support, stereo Bluetooth and a 1,000 mAh battery that provides nearly 5 hours of talk time, 27 hours of music playback or 7.3 hours of video playback. The 104 x 49 x 13 mm large handset, weighing 107 grams, is expected to be launched in Q3 in black-red, white-blue, white-grey, white-pink and white-yellow colors at a net price of 199 euros.
