At their press conference Nokia announced only two Eseries handsets, but there have been other things at their booth. The 6 series also gained two new models, one of them is called 6710 Navigator, the other is 6720 Classic. The naming suggests that the first is the continuation of the series that started with 6110, while the second is a successor of 6220 Classic.
Finally I had the opportunity to ask why aren't these models Eseries phones and Nokia's representative didn't blame the lower quality materials used, but he thinks that these two models are not business enough, or to be more precise they are just as business models as everyday-use ones, so we have decided that the two newcomers are great toys for businessman dads and manager moms.
The new feature of 6710 Navigator is that this time we can move with the navigation ring in not only four, but eight directions, which is useful because this is one of the first Nokias that has Nokia Maps 3.0. The camera's resolution is 5 megapixels and it's a Carl-Zeiss again, while the data communication possibilities are quite advanced on the Symbian 9.3 handset.
The HSDPA module supports 10.2 megabit/s download if we have network support, there is a WLAN antenna, stereo Bluetooth and a microUSB port, which can be used for charging the phone. 6710 has a 3.5 mm jack as well. The onboard memory can be expanded with a microSD card, the package comes with a 2 GB module.
When taking photos of 6720 Classic the guys at the booth have attracted our attention to the slightly arced design, according to the girl from Nokia the phone has the shape of a banana. In terms of specifications there are differences compared to 6710, for example there is no WLAN, there is only a 1 gigabyte memory card in the box, but it still has the 5 Mpix Carl-Zeiss lens, just like a GPS receiver and 10.2 megabit HSDPA. The phone also features an FM radio and a 3.5 mm jack, but the battery is more powerful, it has a capacity of 1050 mAh, while the other phone has only a 950 mAh one.
Of course both phones are based on Symbian, they have a secondary CIF camera and the main camera on the back can record VGA videos. In the case of 6720 the specs don't mention that it can be charged through USB.
