MWC2009: Android-based HTC Magic for Vodafone

Hirdetés

HTC has been announcing its new handset called Magic just when we were visiting their booth. These have been funny moments, everyone has been rushing to have a few moments with G1, while above their head Magic's video ad has been playing and no one observed it. But we have recorded it on video and then a lady came around and asked me to stop filming as this whole thing is not public yet. It is not? Well then they shouldn't have put it on the huge plasma. Anyway, by the time we got back to the press centre, the official announcement mail dropped in.

Magic is the second Android handset from HTC, which will be distributed by Vodafone. The first ones to get a shipment are the British, the German, the French, the Spanish and the Italians, but other countries won't be ommitted either. Sales are launching during springtime.

The official press release didn't have too many specs details, but it's sure that Magic has a 3.2", QVGA display, it has HSDPA support and there is a trackball to help the user get around the menu. Of course we can find Google Mail and Google Talk in the menu, while the webkit-based web browser supports YouTube videos.

That's all the info we currently have about the phone, and now let's see the official announcement video:
