The Eee PC laptop with a 7" display, recently announced by ASUS, has an increasing popularity, which doesn't affect only the products of the direct competitors, but Peter Chou, HTC's CEO claims that it can have a serious effect on his company too. Mobile internet access is still highly important for HTC, but he didn't reveal any further details about the comapny's UMPC strategy. According to other Taiwanese sources HTC is woeking hard on its Intel Atom and Qualcomm Snapdragon-based MID devices (internet tablets), which are to be launched this year. Peter Chou has told that HTC is going to announce ten new products during the next half-year in the Diamond and Touch Pro series, in which the new factory in Shanghai, to be started in October, is going to have an important role.
