It looks like nothing can stand in the way of high speed mobile Internet. Ericsson has recently announced its platform called M700, which is the first LTE (Long Term Evolution) solution to really hit the market. The chipset promises 100 megabit of download and 50 megabit of upload speed, thus practically outnumbering even wired solutions. The platform will first be available on ExpressCards and USB-based modems. The devices operating in the 1.4-20 MHz bandwidth will support the six most widespread frequency bands, including 700 MHz American networks. Although the first prototypes are ready, but manufacturers have to wait until 2009. The first products built on the M700 platform are expected to come only in 2010.
