RIM's BlackBerry operating system is not the second most used platform on the market, taking over Microsoft Windows Mobile. While BlackBerry OS had a market share of only 8.9 percent in Q2 2007, in the same period this year they have managed to increase this to 17.4%. Meanwhile, Microsoft's Windows Mobile platform has increased from 11.5 percent to 12. The first place is still taken by the Symbian operating system, although its 65.5 percent market share from last year (almost two thirds) has decreased to "only" 57.1.
