Google's Android platform, after a nice and slow evolution, has finally been launched on the T-Mobile G1 handset, manufactured by HTC, but it is currently available only in the United States and Great Britain. It seems, however, that Android 0.8 is highly scalable, so it is easy to install on many other models, for example it runs perfectly - as you can see on the video below - on HTC  Touch Diamond, and it even makes use of the advantages of the higher resolution display. Many forums cover the installation of the open operating system on different devices, but the process is not very simple and besides the warranty becoming void, it might even result in the handset becoming unusable.
