According to Android Community the service at http://www.unlock-tmobileg1.com/ sends the unlock code for $23 USD, but 90 days after contracting T-Mobile also unlocks the phone for free. According to Android Community, however, G1 users don't have to wait 90 days, as the fidelty is bound only to the contract, so the unlock code can be applied earlier.
