The camera can be described in two words: basic, the maximal resolution is 1 megapixel, so this is not the attraction of the phone. Naturally quick photos can be taken with that, I made some too (under), but to hold the price low, this was the point where the engineers cut the abilities. The W380i doesn’t have the new multimedia menu, but maybe they didn’t enforce it on 176x220 pixels.

Of course, users expect the musical part is to compensate it. Although it’s not perfect, but it does, I’ve mentioned the earphones at the beginning of the review, but the speaker is good, and a good earphone can make miracles, because the overall view is pleasant both at software and ergonomically. The play have to be started in open case, (expect it was running in the background), but after this, the phone can be closed. The three buttons on the front gets some faint light, these are to control the player, and some improvement is that the phone can reply the touches with vibration, so you know whether it was successful or not.
The playlist can be entered by pushing the up-down buttons; it sorts the music by ID3 tags. The picture uploaded to the album can be displayed in the background of the player, and if it’s running in the background, the default background picture animates else ways at different themes, and the title of the currently played song is displayed. The lack of memory (15MB free space is available by default) can be compensated with M2 card, currently we don’t know whether it will be the part of the basic package or not, but looking the usual routine, expectably it will.
The FM radio naturally only works with earphone, but RDS able, handling is simple, and I give good marks for its receiver. The other applications in the list besides the TrackID are video-player (basic), dictaphone and MusicDJ. (If it’s unknown, the last one is the tune editor of the Sony Ericsson the builds from pre-defined tunes.) The available games are the Extreme Air Snowboarding, the QuadraPop named Tetris-clone (own record: 21490) and the Sims 2.
