Nokia 6210 Navigator - just a name

There are some problems with the 3.2 megapixel autofocus camera. On hand it takes ages to make an exposure and on the other hand picture quality is not very good. Images are rather noisy but due to the powerful noise filter details are quite few and far between and there is an unwanted “fog” effect too. The flash, however, works fine. The camera’s menu is a bit different this time than on other Symbian devices, as opposed to previous one the icons appear on the top row of the display.

We have the usual arsenal of settings here, sensitivity cannot be set, but there is an edge sharpness setting, there are preset modes, image quality can be set in the usual “high-standard-low” range, so JPEG compression has three steps. We have panorama and night mode, image sequencing and self-timer. GPS position, however, is not printed on the images.

Test picture below. Videos can be recorded in VGA resolution, which is a rather pleasant surprise – even though speed is only 15 frames/second.

There are no extras on the musical part, we have the usual Symbian standard. This is more than perfect for such a phone, even though there would have been room for a 3.5 mm jack on the top of 6210. This way we had to rely on the headset they supplied, which is rather plain, so if we have some more serious musical needs we should acquire a stereo Bluetooth headset or, even better, a jack converter.

The radio doesn’t support RD, but we have the “Visual” features, which is possibly great where there are related services available. Just like other new Nokia, this one also asks us if we want the list of available radio stations to be downloaded. Sound quality is not bad via the speaker, but nothing extra.
