The original Verizon U740 Alias dual-hinge clamshell had made good use of both positions, as when opened by its vertical axis it had a full QWERTY keyboard, while in the other position it worked as a classical clamshell phone, but the vertical and horizontal key labels was quite annoying. It seems that this problem has been finally solved on Alias2, as the button labels automatically change, based on the position. It is not yet known what kind of technology does the handset use, but it's probably related to e-Ink.
