General Mobile announced their new communicator, the SDTW1, which differs of conventional smartphones mainly because it has dual SIM slots. Considering other aspects, the phone doesn’t really excel. The Windows Mobile 6 Professional OS-based smartphone’s one SIM card supports GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz, while the other functions on GSM 900/1800/1900 networks. Its 2.8” QVGA 65K color display is touch operated, it has a 2 megapixel camera and the 256 MB built-in memory can be extended with a microSD card. Unfortunately there is no 3G or WLAN support, only GPRS and EDGE, as well as Bluetooth for personal area networking. There is no exact information about the phone’s processor, but one thing is sure: the size of the RAM is only 64 MB. The 117 x 61 x 18 mm large handset, weighing 144 grams might come out in March 08, however we’ve got no word on pricing.
