According to ITU (International Telecommunication Union) estimates by the end of 2008 the number of cell phone subscriptions will be over four billion. The number of subscriptions has been continuously rising in the 21st century, which is mostly due to the market expansion of developing countries like Brazil, Russia, India and China. The more powerful rivalry, the decreasing price of handsets and minute prices make cell phones more and more popular and of course we shouldn't forget that by signing a subscription one can acquire a device that can play back music or take pictures - and the price is very low in this case. According to the analysts of ITU currently the largest mobile market is the one of China and that's why the country is so important for the large manufacturers.
