The new Xperia firmware is here

Sony Ericsson announced its first phone using Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional last year, which seemed a really unique one when it was announced, but lots of rivals have been launched by the time it became available. The metallic phone with an arced sliding QWERTY keyboard and an 800 x 480 pixels large touchscreen has been reviewed twice, but it never proved to be convincing, due to its high price and the slow software.

The Japanese-Swedish manufacturer has announced earlier that the new Xperia X1 firmware is coming soon, and it is now available at this link, at the manufacturer's product support site. The R3A software, according to the first feedbacks, brings serious speed and signal strength improvements, but display handling also becomes faster. The panels, blamed a lot for being slow, now work at a proper speed, so it seems that the manufacturer managed to finish the phone in a year.

The Xperia line, known for its special panels, seems to currently have less importance. Although we have heard many rumors that an updated Xperia X2 could be announced soon, but considering the manufacturer's recent announcements we can notice that the Entertainment Unlimited series is much more emphasized, as it recently received three new models and exclusive services have also been announced.
