In the mobile phone industry it is not a rare occurrence that a manufacturer doesn't produce its own devices, but it trusts others with the mass-production, moreover sometimes even the planning is entrusted to others. From the announcement of Sony Ericsson it turns out that the recently presented T270 and T280 base models and the R300, specialized in radio, will be manufactured by the Taiwanese Arima, while the R306 clamshell radio will be made in the workshops of CMCS, another Taiwanese corporation. The T270 and T280 will be available on the market presumably in the first quarter of the year, the R300 is expected to arrive before June and the R36 will come out only in August-September. During the year 2007 a total of 8.5 million handsets were made for Sony Ericsson by Taiwanese suppliers.
