According to a survey of Opera, mobile phone-based web browsing is not limited to smartphones. Thanks to Opera Mini one can access the world wide web easily from conventional phones too. 3.2 billion webpages have been downloaded last month with the Java-based browser, which is 9.4% more than in May. The full traffic of Opera servers was 47.7 million MB during this period and since data sent by them is 85 percent more compact then standard sites, practically 311 million MB of data has been sent to mobile phones from the web. According to Opera's survey six out of ten phones running Opera Mini are a Nokia, two are Sony Ericsson, one is a BlackBerry and one is a Samsung, while in the United States nine out ten are BlackBerry smartphones. This means that the free browser from www.operamini.com can even lure users from the default browsers of smartphones.
