We have just reprted about the Finnish giant planning to launch three new, graceful touchscreen phones in half a year, and now we have news about Nseries models becoming only mid-range handsets of the manufacturer as of this summer, while the topmost segment is to be occupied by Linux-based internet tablets. The product line, expected to be launched late summer or early fall in Germany at a huge event, will be based on a redesigned Maemo Linux, the first member featuring a 4.2" touchscreen display and a QWERTY keyboard and it might be launched before the end of the year. All we know about another device, called "Nautilus", is that it will be very slim and its sliding QWERTY keyboard will be automatic and its buttons rise only when it slides open. The completely redesigned Linux platform, based on Maemo, has been confirmed by Eldar Murtazin, owner of Mobile-Review, and at the same time he has also confirmed that Series 60 Nseries handsets will be only the mid-range handsets of Nokia and at the same time they will be targeted at a much wider range of customers. This means that it's possible that the Finnish giant is not preparing to overtake the industry of laptops, but they want to create such ultracompact Linux-based handheld computers that are even more portable than netbooks and at the same time they are much more improved in terms of multimedia and communications.
