It looks like the financial crisis has a positive effect on the Finnish manufacturer - at least from the customers' point of view - as recently they have announced a series of moderately priced phones. Nokia 5130 XpressMusic costs only 90 euros for example, but for only 30 euros one can get a phone with a TFT display, while the cheapest basic model comes at 199 euros. The Nokia E63 business model for 199 euros - although it might seem the plastic, HSDPA- and GPS-less edition of E71 - has more to give than its sister from some points of view, so its price-tag is not the only thing to make it attractive. The 113 x 59 x 13 mm large handset, weighing 126 grams, has a 2.36", 320 x 240 display, a 2 megapixel camera with fix focus, full QWERTY keyboard, microSD(HC) slot, 110 MB of internal memory, 384 kbps 3G (WCDMA) and 296 kbps EDGE (class 32), WLAN support, a standard 3.5 mm jack and a 1500 mAh battery providing up to 11 hours of talk time. The NaviWheel (scrollable, touch-sensitive edge of the D-pad) is of course also present. According to the first feedbacks the keyboard made of a softer rubber provides a more comfortable use than its predecessor's.
