Digitimes with the reference to OpenMoko’s president reported that a Linux-based open source handset platform developer will release a successor of the Neo 1973 Linux-smartphone in March-April 08. Like its predecessor it will be based on the Linux open source platform by OpenMoko. There are no more details on the new Neo phone. The Neo 1973 was launched in July 07 and featured GSM/GPRS 850/900/1800/1900 MHz networks, 2.8” VGA touchscreen, USB 1.1 and Bluetooth 2.0 interfaces and A-GPS.
