Neo FreeRunner coming on July 7

Hirdetés

According to OpenMoko's announcement, Neo FreeRunner will be available from July 7. The GNU/Linux-based handset's base software can be used for calls, text messaging and phonebook handling, but the continuous updates will make use of all features. The frimware that supports location-based services will be launched in August. The device, coming in European and American editions too, will have a tri-band GSM receiver, a 2.8", 480 x 640 pixels large display, WLAN and Bluetooth 2.0 support, an AGPS receiver, a 3D motion sensor, 256 MB Flash and 128 MB SDRAM memory. The greatest advantage of OpenMoko models is that they are built on a completely open system, so developers have practically no limitations. The OpenMoko Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) community will be able to shape the handset's software as they want to. The distribution of OpenMoko Neo FreeRunner begins on July 7 at an opening price of $399 USD.
