Motorola might stabilize

The American giant, who has been through better times, has laid off employees a couple of times during 2008. In October 3000 people have lost their jobs, which could have been followed by another 1500 firings, but, as opposed to the original plans, 1800 people have been sacked. According to data from the manufacturer they are decreasing their production costs with about 800 million dollars, which could mean that the company becomes profitable in Q3 2009. At least this is what they have in mind, but the decreasing sales and the financial crisis can make the difficult period longer by one or two quarters. Motorola, however, won't do anything by chance. As of March 2009 they are putting an end to their retirement support system, while the payment of much other contributions will be suspended for an indefinite period.
