Motorola is not giving up its mobile phone line

Hirdetés

For those dedicated Motorola fans out there, wondering if they indeed will pull out of the mobile phone handset business, can now breathe a sigh of relief, as yesterday, they said they are “fully committed” to the mobile phone handset business, and their strategic review hopes to bring about a “product-led” recovery, for the loss-making handset division.

The rumours of Motorola exiting the handset division ran amok in late January, when the US-based phone giant said it was contemplating splitting its mobile devices from its other businesses, as part of a "structural and strategic realignment", in order to re-establish itself, to re-claim its lost marketshare.
Greg Brown, Motorola CEO announced yesterday at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona that "Motorola is fully committed to the mobile devices business and I am fully committed to mobile devices."
