Modu, announced in February 2008, had a really long development cycle, but it has finally been launched in Israel, thanks to Cellcom. The phone, available for about 130 dollars, or free if a questionnaire is completed, is 72.1 x 37.6 x 7.8 mm large, has a 1.3" OLED display, a microUSB connector, 2 GB of onboard memory and a 530 mAh battery and the manufacturer also packs a standard GSM phone jacket with the device. Based on the first feedbacks the GSM jacket has no WLAN or 3G support and the menu system is quite outdated, but the essence of the concept is that the Modu base unit is used only for storing data and making calls and lots of accessories will be available to complete the handset.
