The recently announced Nokia 6700 Classic is based on the highly successful Nokia 6300, but its elegant metallic case and its keypad made also of metal are a sign of modern features. According to Soren Petersen, Senior VP at Nokia, the two handsets have the same origins, so he expects the new edition to be just as successful as its predecessor has been, which topped the sales in 2006 in its category. The phone, having a rounded shape, features a 2.2", 240 x 320 pixels large display, a 5 megapixel autofocus camera and a LED flash, a GPS receiver and Nokia Maps navigation software with two months of voice navigation included. The handset also supports 10 megabit HSDPA and 2 megabit HSUPA upload, Bluetooth 2.1, it has a microUSB port and a 960 mAh battery providing 5 hours of talk time. The 109.8 x 45 x 11.2 mm large Nokia 6700 Classic, weighing 116.5 grams, is expected to launch before June at a net price of 235 euros. The base package will include a 1 GB microSD card, a USB cable and a carrying case as well.
