LG Prada II under development

LG and Prada have announced last year the product of their cooperation, the stylish LG Prada, of which they sold 700.000 worldwide, even though it was launched in the exclusive, premium fashion category. Of course its success was taken for sure even at the time of launch. The Prada brand, the simple design and the huge touchscreen have attracted many buyers. However further increase of sales has been limited by the lack of 3G and the camera with a resolution of only 2 MP, which has been taken a few steps further by Viewty. The cooperation between LG and Prada didn't end yet, as they are working heavily on the successor of the fashion phone.

The phone, currently known as Prada II, will be much more advanced both in terms of design and features. On one hand they will emphasize small details, the harmony of the menu and themes, the user interface and the exclusivity of pre-installed ringtones, and Prada will take much more care of the accessories' design, while on the other hand we can expect serious technological developments. Prada II will be a slider with a full QWERTY keyboard, EDGE, 7.2 megabit HSDPA and WLAN support. The 240 x 400 pixel large, 3" TFT touchscreen won't change, but the camera will be a 5 megapixel one. Other interesting features are the FM radio, the Tv-out, the full HTML browser and the support of microSDHC cards, up to 8GB. The handset is expected to be launched by the end of the year, but there is no official information regarding this matter.
