The smaller South-Korean manufacturer has been offering touchscreen phones since a long time ago, but these use LG's own closed operating system almost exclusively. The partnership with Microsoft, announced this February, meant that they are entering the world of smartphones and PDAs, and so new handsets have been launched at CommuniAsia in Singapore.
LG GT500 features a 3", 240 x 400 pixels large touchscreen display, the S-Class user interface and comes with the WisePilot navigation software, which is free to use in the first month. The handset of course features a GPS receiver, and it also has WLAN and stereo Bluetooth support, a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash, 3.6 megabit HSDPA support, an FM radio and a microSDHC card slot. LG GT500, coming in Q3, will first be available in England under the name GT505, but it could be launched worldwide afterwards.
