BlackBerry 8220 KickStart will be the first clamshell smartphone from the manufacturer, which will offer a series of new features, thanks to its form factor. The new handset will be a mid-range one, so it has some quite modest specs. The handset, supporting GPRS and EDGE networks, has a 240 x 320 pixel resolution internal display and a 128 x 160 external one, WLAN support, a 2 megapixel camera and SureType keypad. The smartphone is expected to come in September at American T-Mobile at a price under $50 USD. The first detailed review mentions another model, called SeaWolf, which differs from KickStart only in having a GPS receiver in plus.
