A new model has been born under the name S740, based on the design elements of HTC Touch Diamond. The back and the shiny front of the handset have been evidently inspired by Diamond, but this time there is a conventional keypad too under the display, thus shrinking that to a diagonal of 2.4", so the resolution is smaller, 240 x 320 pixels and it's not a touchscreen either. A good news is that there is a QWERTY keyboard which can be very handy when typing longer texts. The Windows Mobile 6.1 operating system has a 528 MHz Qualcomm CPU this time and 256 MB RAM and the same amount of Flash memory that can be expanded with a microSD card. There are two cameras, the larger has fixed focus and a resolution of 3.2 megapixels, while there is a VGA cam too on the front. The handset supports 7.2 megabit HSDPA and WLAN (802.11b/g) and there is an aGPS receiver too. Besides the stereo FM radio the phone supports stereo Bluetooth headsets too. The 116.3 x 43.4 x 16.3 mm large HTC S740, weighing 140 grams, has a 1000 mAh battery and it should be launched in September at an unkown price.
