Graceful 3G classic from Nokia

The Finnish manufacturer not only plans to conquer the high-end market, but is also interested in the mid-range and the low-end segments. We've seen their 2 and 3 series entry-level phones, but the Nokia 3120 Classic will surely redefine the concept of cheap mobile phones and there is no exaggeration in that. Based on the Series 40 platform, the phone has a 2" 16 million color display, with a resolution of 240x320 pixels. It also has a 2 Megapixel camera and a flash, and can take photos up to 1600x1200 pixels large and it can record videos at a maximum resolution of 640x480 pixels, a feature rarely seen in cheaper phones.

The phone supports GPRS / EDGE (class 32) and 3G too, its 24 MB internal memory can be extended with a microSD card. For local data transfer we have Bluetooth connection and a mini-USB port. The device supports the more widespread MP3, MP4, AAC, eAAC+, WMA and 128 channel MIDI formats and we can listen to the radio on it, for which there is a stereo headset (HS-40) included in the base package. Until now voice calling and voice commands were features deliberately omitted from entry-level phones, but this newcomer supports them.

There has been a major leap in means of message handling: besides MMS messages the phone supports Push-Email which makes the instant downloading of mails possible, emails can be sent and received together with attachments. The Nokia 3120 Classic has a splendid appearance, bright colors and is shipped with heaps of animated themes, backgrounds and screensavers and it includes the JAVA-based Opera Mini browser too. The phone's 1000 mAh battery promises 200 minutes of talk time and over 12 days of standby time. The handset having a size of 111.3x45.4x13.4 millimeters and a weight of 85 grams will probably hit the stores before June at a price of 150 euros.
