CSR has announced their latest development, which provides a Bluetooth module and a digital sound processor, capable of decoding stereo sound, on one chip. The BlueTunes ROM makes it easier then ever for the company's partners to make stereo Bluetooth headsets, as both the chip and the SBC support MP3 files, although a separate fee has to be payed for this. In order to increase sound experience the sound processor has a five-band programmable equalizer too. One of the greatest advantages of this integrated solution is that with a standard 180 mAh battery it can play back music for up to 10 hours. Besides these the BlueTunes ROM features low-latency FastStream technology, which prevents audio/video delay as currently there are a number of stereo headsets with a delay of 200 ms, which makes is almost impossible to enjoy games or videos.
