When Nokia announced that they are planning to give one year long free and unlimited music downloading to their premium devices, than everyone was expecting an answer from Apple, as the objective of Nokia was clear: they want to entice away iPod users. Now, that Nokia has to offer tracks from Universal Total Music and Sony BMG too, Apple's answer is not far away. According to Financial Times Apple is about restructure the business model of iTunes Store, but first they have to convince the record labels too and all this depends on how much is Apple willing to pay for the unlimited access to the music tracks. After convincing these companies there still is the question of where does Apple want to finance music downloads from. Financial Times thinks that the most likely is that "Premium iPod" models are to be introduced, that will cost $100 more than the others, but in turn unlimited music downloads would be accessible through the device's full lifespan. The other concept is a monthly subscription-based model, which would offer unlimited download for 7-8 USD, which could be included even in the iPhone's monthly subscription fee.
