We could hear about Nokia's soon to be launched Comes With Music service in last December, which provides unlimited free music downloads for those who buy specific Nokia devices. The database would have been originally based only on Universal's Total Music database, containing millions of tracks, but based on Nokia's latest press release, one of the world's largest record labels, Sony BMG, is also joining the Finnish manufacturers new service. In case of buying a specific phone, we can download an unlimited number of music tracks directly to the phone, or to a computer, for a year. The downloaded, DRM protected tracks can be kept after the one year period without any further costs, but writing them to a CD has to be paid for separately. In case of a phone or computer change, the tracks can be kept, but in this case, they cannot be played on the previous device. The Comes With Music service can be lengthened after the one year period by buying a new device, or paying a specific sum. It is not yet known when the service's launch is planned or on what devices will it be available.
