Americans say iPhone is the best

J.D. Power and Associates has made survey on American business users (2008 Business Wireless Smartphone Customer Satisfaction Study), which shows that users of Apple iPhone are the most content with their smartphone. The survey, conducted a second time, has taken a look at smartphones from five different aspects: simplicity of use (27%), operating system (25%), external design (21%), services (18%) and battery (10%). The winner of the survey has been Apple, receiving 778 marks from a thousand. The company is followed by RIM, than Samsung with 703 and 701 marks respectively. The study also shows that a quarter of smartphone users have seen software bugs. 44 percent of such users think that the handset has to be restarted once a week, while 34 percent say that an application hangs up on the handset once a week. 69 percent of those asked use a headset, while 74 percent has a Bluetooth accessory.

37% percent of the users would like GPS navigation, 25 percent want WLAN access, 23 percent ask a touchscreen, while 15 percent demands voice calling. The average price of smartphones has been $216 USD in 2008, while this value has been 261 dollars in 2007. Apple owners have been those who have spent the most on their phones, 337 dollars on average, the next in line are Motorola users, who spend an average of 169 dollars. The five most important features why users choose a smartphone are internet access (45%), email access (41%), design and style (39%), Bluetooth (37%), (QWERTY) keyboard (37%). 34 percent of the users have already downloaded some kind of software on his or her phone, applications like games (49%), business apps liek an office suite (43%), or travel software (36%). In order to conduct the survey in August and September, 1.388 American business users have been asked by J.D. Power and Associates.
