Philips 193 is made primarily for those who don't expect any extra features from their phones, as practically the FM radio is the only feature that reminds of multimedia. The 128 x 128 pixels large cSTN display is also there because of the expectations nowadays, although it would have been better to use a black and white display with a high contrast, at least for the elderly customers. The demand for cheap phones is not negligible at all, as the use of handsets with lots of multimedia features might be difficult, mosttly fot the elderly, and one takes a look primarily at the price of a secondary phone, not the features.
