8 megapixel Samsung in the making

Hirdetés

Although the first European phone with an 8 megapixel camera is from Sony Ericsson, it seems that it will have a serious opponent, already before its launch. Samsung i8510 Primer, pictured below, is better not only than the Japanese-Swedish manufacturer's phone, but even Nokia N96 can be only second to it. The phone with an 8 megapixel autofocus camera and Xenon flash can record videos slow-motion videos at 120 fps, just like LG Viewty, and it also has DivX support. The Symbian Series 60-based smartphone supports HSDPA, WLAN and stereo Bluetooth and will also have a standard 3.5 mm headset output. This latter one is told to support 5.1 channel audio playback, but it's not yet clear if this will be done via SPDIF or some kind of Surround encoding. The phone with an 1200 mAh battery has a 2.8", 240 x 320 pixels large display and a 3D accelerator processor, so it will also perform good in games and of course TV output is present, since it is really becoming something default in this segment. The 106.5 x 53.9 x 16.9 mm large handset has 16 GB of internal memory and is expected to become available before August at an estimated price of €780 EUR. The handset has not yet been officially announced by Samsung.
