The software update for the European edition of Nokia N96 is now available for the American variant (N96-3 - NAM) as well. The v12 firmware is not only much faster than the previous software, but it also patches up lots of known bugs. The new software provides a better image quality, and, even more, thanks to the proper choosing of the shutter time it's easier to avoid blurred images even in a darker environment. After downloading the updated Bluetooth software and the client program the full Nokia Email compatibility can be just as important as patching such annoying bugs like the automatic keypad locking during video playback, the automatic conversion of SMS messages to MMS when there are many addressees, the hangups during the media library update, the bug of the snooze feature or the resetting of the default theme after exiting the USB mass storage mode. The new Nokia N96 firmware can be installed through the Nokia Software Updater.
