There will be Android phones this year

Previously there have been many rumors regarding Google being slow with development of the Android platform, so "Gphone" handsets are not expected to become available before 2009. The fact that many manufacturers are planning to introduce Google Android-based phones this year highly contradicts these gossips. For example Samsung has already mentioned such phones. After the lots of rumors Google itself has finally had its say in the matter. According to the company the development of Android platform is going swiftly and the first Android-based handsets are going to be announced this year, and they are expected to be launched in Q4.
