Sony Ericsson's latest phone could have been seen on many occasions, but the Japanese-Swedish manufacturer announced it officially only now. The clamshell, called Z780, is made primarily for web browsing and navigation. For using pre-installed Google Maps, the handset has a built-in aGPS module, which helps us in navigation. The clamshell, 92 x 49 x 16 mm in size and 100 grams in weight, has a 2.2" 240 x 320 internal display and a 128 x 36 pixel large monochrome external screen. The latter is only meant for showing the most necessary information. The 35 megabytes of internal memory can be expanded with an M2 memory card. The phone endures 9.5 hours of talk time with one charge, and operates on GPRS, EDGE, UMTS (3G) and HSDPA networks. The device, coming in amethyst-silver and onyx colors is expected to become available in Q2, but there is no information on its pricing yet.
