World's smallest GPS receiver

Hirdetés

SkyTraq announced the world's smallest GPS solution, embedded in a single chip. The low power-consumption GPS receiver, that uses Venus6T architecture, is only 10 x 10 x 1.2 mm large, which includes all components of the usual GPS receiver, like the radio frequency unit, the passive elements and the quartz crystal. To have a full GPS receiver there is no need for anything else than a Venus634T chip and a GPS antenna. The 65-channel device has a 1 second warm startup and 29 seconds cold startup time. The device's max power consumption is 50 mW (this is when looking for signal), while during normal operation it consumes 30 mW, which is one of the best values of the market. The one square cm large chip can analyze satellite signals eight million times per second, and moreover, the -158 dB sensitivity provides an appropiate reception quality even between tall buildings, or in valleys. SkyTraq Venus634T will be available from Q3.
