The first and, up until now, last member of Sony Ericsson's "F" ("Fun") series, F305, was not really successful, as its 176 x 220 pixels large display didn't really make it attractive, even though it came with tons of Java games that made good use of its gyroscope. The manufacturer's second attempt comes under the name Yari, and it will be a member of the Entertainment Unlimited series, alunched by Idou with its 12 megapixel camera. The handset really looks to be a good rival of Nokia's Nseries models, as we can't complain about the design.
The two buttons above the display make it evident that Yari is made for gaming, and this time we can't complain about the display either, as according to its category, it has a 2.4", 240 x 320 pixels large screen, which comes with a gyroscope, this being used by the pre-installed games and additional software that can be downloaded from the PlayNow Arena site. Another new feature is the frontal camera that can be used as a motion sensor as well, so games can be controlled by simple hand movements. On the back there are the stereo speakers and an autofocus camera with its LED flash. The camera now has face recognition and shooting on smile, while the pictures and videos can be stored on the 1 GB microSD card, which is included in the package. The phone, featuring HSDPA, WLAN, GPS and stereo Bluetooth support, has the Walkman 4 player, which can be fully customized with themes. The package comes with a 1 GB microSD card, a stereo headset, a charger stand and a USB cable. Sony Ericsson Yari, having a size of 100 x 48 x 15.7 mm and a weight of 115 grams, has a talk time of 10 hours and it will be available from September in black and red-white.
