Sony Ericsson Jalou: Design above all

Hirdetés

It seems that SE Jalou does indeed exists, although it looks a bit different than on the first fake pictures. When designing the phone, Sony Ericsson has though of those who are fond of small clamshell phones and fashion in general, and meanwhile Jalou is also one of the smallest handsets available. The clam phone reminds of precious stones, has square-shaped surfaces and it has a similar internal design as well, this being in full harmony with the square keypad as well. Another interesting feature of the recently announced handset is that besides the onyx black, amethyst and aquamarine blue editions there is a fourth one as well, covered in 24 karat Dolce&Gabbana gold. This is the same fashion company that cooperated with Motorola on the occasion of launching similar gold phones.

The tiny device is mostly about fashion, but it still has the average technical specs of this category. The clamshell, being only 73 mm long when closed, has a 1.3", 128 x 36 pixels large external monochrome display, while on the inside there is a large one with a diagonal of 2" and a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels - this can be converted into a mirror with a simple press of a button. Besides these, the phone also has a 3.2 megapixel camera with fixed focus and a LED flash, a GPS receiver, a gravity sensor, an RDS-capable FM radio, 100 MB of onboard memory, a microSD card slot, YouTube and Google Maps client software, HSPA data transfer support and a battery that provides up to 7 hours of talk time. The 73 x 45 x 18.2 mm large Sony Ericsson Jalou, weighing 84 grams, is expected to be launched by the end of the year, but no pricing information has been revealed yet.
