During last year the demand for touchscreen devices has increased more than ever. According to analysis during the last 12 months a total of 37 million touchscreen phones have been sold, 10 million of which have been sold by Samsung. The South-Korean manufacturer has sold 1.12 million handsets in their own country, 4 million in Europe, 2.2 million in the United States and over 900.000 in China. The demand for mobiles with huge touchscreens will increase further this year, even in spite of the financial crisis. Nokia, dominating four-fifth of the market, will be launching more and more Symbian Series 60 Touch phones, but it is expected that an increasing number of classical phones will get touchscreen displays. Besides this of course the other manufacturers, like Apple, will also act, although there is no certain information about the new iPhone model.
