Samsung game console-phone patent

We’ve recently seen some tries to create a dedicated gaming phone- for example, Nokia N-Gage gaming smartphone, which turned to be a failure. There were also several possible gaming phone designs and R&D concepts. This time Samsung filed a patent application for its next gaming phone. Although they have no special gaming phones on the market, this is at least the third patent they are developing. Looking like an ordinary clamshell, it has definite changes in design - its inner display swings away to landscape mode and reveals another keypad with game controls underneath. The developers left some space for an additional speaker, allowing better sound effects. However this form doesn’t provide any opportunity for a compact and slim housing. It’s not yet clear whether Samsung and other vendors would implement the idea in new products soon.
