MWg Zinc II has been announced in May, but it has been launched only now. The company's name might sound familiar as the first really cordless charger has been announced by MWg, but since then they have somehow disappeared. The 109.5 x 59 x 18 mm large MWg Zinc II, weighing 185 grams, is a tri-band HSDPA and quad-band GSM handset that has a 2.8", 240 x 320 pixels large display, a slider QWERTY keyboard, a 2 megapixel camera with fixed focus, WLAN and Bluetooth 2.0 support, along with a built-in GPS receiver. The Windows Mobile 6.1-based handset has a 500 MHz Samsung CPU, for which the 1530 mAh battery provides enough energy. The handset's current price of €715 EUR seems a bit too high, as it will soon have to compete with such handsets as HTC Touch Pro, which might even be cheaper.
