As many of you might know, poor Palm is not in a fortunate situation nowadays. They were however present at MWC, they had a separate little building, where we could admire the two new devices of the manufacturer with a life of vicissitudes.
The Treo 500v is a smartphone running Windows Mobile 6 Standard as an operating system. The design changed much, the gadget available in black and white too is a nice little piece. The GSM module in it is a tri-band one (900/1800/1900 MHz), moreover the machine handles UMTS networks too. Unfortunately there is no WiFi in it, but omitting this feature from a business phone in 2008 is a huge mistake. The size of the memory is 150 MB, this can be expanded with a microSD card. There is Bluetooth 2.0 support with A2DP, the camera is a 2 megapixel one with fixed focus, display resolution is 320x240 pixels. The device weighs 120 grams, its size is 110x61.5x16.5 mm.
Centro's operating system is PalmOS 5.4.9. Thus it does not support 3G, the GSM module is quad-band, however. The display is a square-shaped one, with a resolution of 320x320 pixels. There is no WiFi in this one either and Bluetooth is only version 1.2, moreover the internal memory is quite small, only 64 MB, but this can be expanded with a microSD card. The camera is a 1.3 megapixel one, the gadget weighs 124 grams, its size is 107x53.5x18.6 mm.
Both devices will be commercially available soon.
